“System no. 30”, by Julian Wild, involved welding scrap pieces of peat wagons and cutting machinery together that were once part of peat production at Lough Boora Parklands, to depict a disk that appears to bounce over the surface of the canal which looks like a serpentine form swimming across the surface of the canal. Sculptor Julian Wild over a three week period describes in detail the many stages involved in creating a work of art, from concept creation to installation. You can view all aspects of the process, and see how materials of our industrial heritage can be developed into such large scale pieces of public land art. |
