Lough Boora

Cycling at Lough Boora Parklands Lough Boora is an expansive open plan site located on both sides of the Cycle Path Road, which links the Boora road (R357) to the N52 Kilcormac road

Originally a Mass Path through high bog the Cycle Path Road now provides excellent access to many of the Parkland’s sites.

Boora is made up of a number of smaller sites including three different wetland areas, two angling lakes and the famous Lough Boora Mesolithic Site. There are also areas of forestry, pasture and flower-rich natural grassland. This combination provides something for everyone, from anglers, to birdwatchers, to walkers and those with an interest in history and archaeology.

Loch an Dochais and the thatched bird hide, situated adjacent to the road, have been developed with people with disabilities and children in mind.
